Incorrectly identified as a SLR. It is a rangefinder with interchangeable lenses.

Well, there was the Zeiss 50mm f0.7, famous for allowing Stanley Kubrick to shoot scenes by lit only candle light in the film Barry Lyndon. That's pretty fast.

Yes, but that's not for 35mm: thats a video camera lens. 0.75 is pretty average.

Well it's not really a cinema lens either. Kubrick had to adapt it for use on his camera. It was originally developed by NASA so I have no idea what the intended format was. But I highly doubt that f/0.7 is "average" for cinema lenses.

Canon had an EF 50mm f/1.0L USM which had the bragging rights for fastest SLR lens, I believe.

The Canon 50/0.95 was the fastest rangefinder/35mm lens. Mostly commonly found with a Canon 7. A lot of folks buy these to adapt for Leica M mount.

The Leica-M Noctilux, until last year, was an f/1.0 lens, but with their recent redesign, it's now also an f/0.95. They never made a R version of the Noctilux.

If you need low-cost and fast-fast in rangefinder glass, you'll probably go for the Voigtlander Nokton 50mm f/1.1 instead. It's only $1k vs. the Noctilux's $10k pricetag.
