Default Model Mayhem: Anyone Else Using This Site?

I've been using Model Mayhem for about 6 months now and it has turned out to be a great place to find shoots and line up work with aspiring models. Here's a link to my profile:

They seem to have member from around the world -- just like dPS.

My only issue is with the "application" process. I've never actually applied but I've seen far too many excellent portfolios get rejected. I understand why it's there, and appreciate it to a certain extent, but I still think it's annoying.

I've used it and had mixed results. I've even had models show up for TF* that knew what they were doing and were a delight to work with. I've also had models show up with an entire wardrobe and wanted to spend 20 minutes changing after 5 minutes of shooting. My favorite though was the model that I had offered to pay, that never showed up, and in the conversation where she told me she wasn't going to make it asked when I she could get paid. "Um, when you actually earn it."

I agree about the mixed results. I've worked with some wonderful models -- models who really know what they are doing and react instantly to the sound of the shutter release. And then there are those who are just starting out and really don't know what to do. That's has been a learning experience for me in how to direct a model. Frankly, that's the hardest thing for me, directing.
