Default What's the best way to store...

What's the best why to store your camera? With or without lens attached to camera body in a camera bag? and do you store face up or down or horizontal?

I'm a rookie, please forgive the crazy questions?

My digital body, for the most part, is stored vertically, with the grip on and the body-cap on in a bag with all my lenses, each positionned vertically. Same goes with my flash.

I store mine is a hermetically sealed aqua-lung wrapped in giant condoms.

Never can be too careful.

In my camera bag with a lens on. I don't think orientation matters too much but you don't want extra chances for dust to get inside the camera. I use a lens rather than a body cap because that way the camera is ready to go if I want it quickly.

I do the same as Wulf: body with standard "universal" zoom lens attached lies vertically in my bag, ready to use.

My long lenses lie flat with the body. The bag bottom has a recess, like a pot hole, to accomodate the battery grip, and the lens rests on the elevated padding. The bag itself looks like a tennis players gear stuff. Never looked like a camera bag. The only give away is the obvious monopod.
Cheers.
