It's easy to run out of subjects and photo opportunites with a limited room of movement (like in winter, etc.)...
I usually play around with lenses, like wide angles this week, telephoto next week, 50mm a week later...
I also self impose some challenges, like doing time lapse and animation and playing with modelling clay.

interesting thread though i do not have enough time to read it all. i do feel the same as you though and i did not even take project 356 or 52. however what i did was to start a project called 'streets of Malta', the country where i live. i will basically start shooting things around me which usually ignore, in a creative way. right now i am not working to take care of my baby and daughter and so i'm quite busy and in this way my life is more interesting! i will soon start posting the shots on sys

Okay, I'm late to this thread and I didn't read all the respones -- I wanted to approach the question fresh -- so someone else has probably already said this. But.

Keep a camera on you all the time. All the time. When you see something worth shooting, you can shoot it. Just knowing you can shoot everything around you will get you looking at the world as if there's a lens in front of you all the time.

Have a cameraphone? There you go.

I live in a small town in Thailand and at first I just took a step outside my door and tried to see something interesting, and for the first couple of days I got that. But the surroundings didn't change and I wasn't showing people what my life was really like and what I saw everyday. I told myself that I needed to really show the town and that meant the people. I'm a teacher in the town and one of the only white woman and to be carrying a big camera around is a little daunting! But I just did it and the pictures I've gotten have been my favorites since I've been here. The pictures I've taken in my town mean more to me than the shots I get at the beautiful beaches of Thailand because they show my real life, they show what I see everyday!

It took me a little bit to get out of this habit of just taking a step out of my door and shooting as quickly as I could and running back into my house. Now the residents on my street are comfortable with me and my camera and it makes it so much easier to get the shots I want!!

Wow, this is a really great thread. I've read most of the responses and am feeling the vibe for photography again.

For me at least, thinking of it this way makes it easier for me to find an idea for a picture.
This is how I've been doing it, but some days I just work and come home, so nothing interesting happens - or I'm just doing the same old things, writing, PlayStation, reading - so I like people's enthusiasm for making the everyday things interesting and will perhaps not feel so bummed about only having the same old thing to photograph, because I can do it in a new way.

I'm also doing what someone else said, printing it as a photo book.
