Oh how I wish I had the money ... looking around the house to see what I can sell. Hmmm, my dog is pretty cute, might get a couple of bucks for him....

I'll have enough money by January (already saving for a 7D and FF would be desirable), so if the deal is still on then I'd love to take it off your hands, but I'm sure someone will pick it up soon right? I mean, what a deal!

crispycargo, I'm not sure. I have it posted on craiglist and there are like 5 local people who keep telling me they will get the money and they have been for a week. But no one who actually has the full amount at once. Some people offered to do it in multiple payments, which I do not want.

If ANYONE is in Michigan, and considering buying a new camera. I HIGHLY suggest you check this out.

I'd much rather sell it locally. I have heard with paypal people will get the camera and then make a claim to paypal that they never got the item and get their money back. So if you want to do this the paypal way, be sure you are ok with exchanging a lot of info over phone...such as address and home phone number and i'll verify that, and you can do the same with me.

With all due respect, there are ways to avoid that type of scam.

You can make sure you have delivery confirmation (if shipping through USPS) or some sort of tracking number so that you know it will be delivered. If it is a higher-end item like this, you may want to look into insuring it. Also, you can require a signature when the package is delivered.

I personnally been involved in something like that. The buyer has 5 days after the payment to file a complaint. Paypal as a dedicated team to look at these complaints and they will ask you the paperwork in order to sort this out.

They don't waste their time though, if they find out the complaint wasn't real, they close the account of the buyer. They are very serious about this.

I've been following this type of situation with Paypal on another forum and it was not in favor of the seller. They are now out the money and the items sold as Paypal sided with the buyer.

Any type of transaction has a degree of risk, I can understand msmphotography's concern. I would love to purchase myself and would go through whatever if I had the full amount up front and not being from the local area.
