haha yeah the sigma is pretty awesome. The Nikon has its advantages in its ruged design, but I'm a sucker for brand new toys.

Of course this pops up after I've spent 900 bucks and my wife has firmly placed her foot down. I really hope I get some work this month because I'd like this lens I think. Then again what sigma did you replace it with?

Sorry I didn't see this post earlier. I replaced it with the Sigma version of the same lens. At the time I knew very little about macro, and wanted the Sigma for hand held shots at f/2.8. But being sick of the tiny DOF I now shoot all of my macro shots with a flash/tripod and stop my lens way down for sharpness.

Yep still have it. The glass is in excellent condition. There is a minor abrasion on the filter ring that doesn't hamper the attachment of filters. HERE you can see a few pictures of the lens.
