Default TRADE Nikon Fiseye Zoom for Wdie-Angle Zoom

I have a Tokina 10-17mm f3.5-4.5 Nikon mount Fisheye Zoom. Great lens and like new, but I would like to replace it with a Nikon mount 10-16 (or similar) wide angle (non fish-eye) Zoom, preferably fast fixed aperture f2.8 Zoom, such as the Tokina 11-16 f2.8 zoom. Will consider other wide angle zooms in Nikon mount.

Contact me if you have one you would like to trade. Will consider a trade plus some cash.

I have the Sigma 10-20: 10-20mm F4-5.6 EX DC HSM - Wide Angle Zoom Lenses - SigmaPhoto.com

What's the difference with what you are talking about trading for? Excuse my ignorance.

Is it because your Tokina is VERY fisheye(extreme) that you do not like it ?

I would be willing to trade. Mine is only 1.5 months old. Try something new. I don't really care as I can use my Nikon 18-135mm for normal widescreen.

Default Tokina Fisheye

Hello,

I would be willing to consider a trade for your Sigma, especially if I don't get an offer to trade for the faster lens. I was kind of hoping for the faster f2.8 fixed aperture, but I have other Sigma's and really do like them. I think the values are fairly close, and if you are favorable, an even trade would sound good.

I like the fisheye and it gives really neat images, but I think for me the non-fisheye wide-angle zoom would be more practical. You can minimize the fisheye effect if desired in most situations by carefully choosing angle when shooting, or sometimes I use Photoshop to straighten lines if I need to. To answer your question, yes the Tokina can be very fisheye, or the fisheye effect can be minimized if desired.

Let me know what you think.

Default Two questions

Marc,

I see you may be in Canada. Would that cause any difficulty or additional expense in making this exchange?

Also, and I should have clarified earlier- is this Sigma a Nikon mount lens. My Tokina is a Nikon mount.

And I assume mechanics are tight and there are no scratches, flaws, other other problem with the optics. The Tokina looks as new and is completely tight.

Shipping shouldnt be more than about 10-20 dollars, probably same for me. Yes it is a Nikon mount. Is the Tokina Auto Focus ?
