Default SB600 - road rash, but works! $100

Still works, needs a new front cover obviously.

If you want a cheap flash that works, but has a few scrapes... here's your ticket

$100 shipped CONUS

Damn! I wish I had the cash. I've got one with a blown capacitor that's otherwise in mint condition.

For anybody else who's not buying because they can't find the red panel, you could probably order one directly from the Nikon parts department.

Dakwegmo, I know I wouldn't have the guts to do this, but in case you do, this article on replacing the bulb of an SB-600 might help you get an SB-600 disassembled so you can see what's involved in replacing the capacitor. Obviously, you want to learn how to recognize and discharge the capacitor if you want to avoid getting shocked.

Thansk inkista, I think you may have posted that link for me before. I'm not really into messing with the high voltage stuff, but I've handed the unit over to my brother to take a crack at it.

LOL. I'd have to off 5 other siblings and nearly 30 grandchildren to get the full inheritance. No, he volunteered to try to fix it. I told him if he electrocuted himself not to get short with me.
