Woot! Nice snag! If the Nikon lens is an SLR F-mount lens (highly likely), you can use a simple F->EOS adapter ring to mount the lens onto a Canon digital body. You can buy them on eBay, or from Adorama/B&H. A common brand you can find is fotodiox, and they also sell these rings directly off their website. The key, however, is knowing the mount system of the lens. "Nikon", unfortunately, isn't enough, as Nikon also made rangefinder lenses (which cannot be adapted to EOS). But if the lens is less than 30 years old, chances are good it's F-mount.

You will (obviously) not have autofocus, but what's less apparent is that you will have no way to control the aperture from the body. There are three main consequences to this lack of electronic communication:

1) You don't have wide-open metering. Usually, your lens is held wide open while you compose and meter, and the iris of the lens shutter is only stopped down while the picture is taken. You now have to rely on stop-down metering. You want to adjust the aperture after you've composed and focused, because the viewfinder will get darker as you stop down.

2) You can only shoot in M or Av mode.

3) Your EXIF will have empty data for the aperture setting and the lens information.

Inkista: All Nikon PC-E lenses are manual focus, even the new ones. But you knew that

That is quite the gift. What tilt-shift lens is it?

Actually, yes, I did. You'll notice I didn't say the OP would lose autofocus. I thought everybody knew tilt-shift lenses were all manual focus. Hence my use of the word, "obviously."

And I'm willing to bet it's not a PC-E. Those suckers are brand new, only a few years old. It's more likely to be the PC 28mm or PC 35mm. Unless the OP's uncle was a product photography, in which case, maybe it's the PC 85mm.
