Default Noticings (game for Flickr users)

Have any of you tried out Noticings yet? It looks for recent Flickr photos that you have given it access to and tagged "noticings" and reports back on what people have seen round the world.

Hydrant in Mitchley Wood

Trivial, yes, but a neat example of how a well-engineered service like Flickr can create an eco-system of other applications around it. Check out my noticings (like the fire hydrant in the middle of woodland, above) and post here to let others know if you are joining in.

I saw the Flickr blog mention it, but I never really thought much of it. It seems like a cool community game, if it can be called such a thing. I suppose it's something I could join if I see any thing noteworty for it. Unfortunately, I love in an uninteresting area :\

Question: I didn't see this mentioned anywhere, but does the picture have to be newly taken? If not, I have several images I could dig up and join the game

I understand that, each day, the site picks up photos taken the previous day, which are mapped and tagged "noticings". Therefore it has to be new shots.

However, I'm sure there are things to notice in your area - part of the challenge is to notice something interesting whereever you live.

I signed up but I don't know if I really get it. Plus, I only take pictures about once a week. It'd be cool if it went back to my old pictures.
