This weeks wonderful landscape was brought to you by TTHW! Thanks a million for this!
The rules are simple, edit the image anyway that you see fit and then post the steps you took to get to your final image. This challenge is as much about learning as it is about sharing with others so that they may learn. Now, let's see what you would do!<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/alockintime/4206445992/" title="ww by windrider86, on Flickr"> ![]() Link to larger version

Where is everyone?
Ok, herre's my whirl at it. First thing was first. Cropped it down to bring more attention to the mountain tops. Next I used an adjustment channel level. Brought the red and green channels all the way to the right and the blue all the way to the left. This wasnt the effect I wanted so I brought the green channel back to about half way which gave me nice contrast and intense skies. Noise removal and a strong sharpening layer. Duplicate layer gave it an infrared effect and erased areas I didnt want so bright, and here you have it:

Hello, I would first like to say that everyone has some nice unique ideas. I like how you didnt crop out the tree like we did Marija. Your edit is awesome. Here is what I did....
Open w. Camera Raw in CS4 Adjusted Clarity to make mountains "pop" a little more. Desaturated Image Open original Image and place on top of edit Add mask and fill black Take white brush and "paint" on mask over trees to give a little more contrast/color. Opacity around 50-60% Open original (or duplicate from beginning) again and place on top Layer style > soft light > opacity 20% Used to add a little more to shadows Just messing around. I need to do more of these for inspiration. Thanks! |

After learning how to use the art history brush last week this picture was perfect to use this effect
![]() So not many steps to tell you just trial and error with art history brush in CS3 until I got enough detail but without making photo look just like a blurry photo |
