Default This is a Hedge-apple

Hedge Apple SOoC

Hedge trees were planted before the invention of barbed wire. The idea was they were tall enough that a horse couldn't jump over; strong enough a bull couldn't push through; and thick enough that a boar couldn't squeeze through. Then, to make things interesting, there were thorns that grow to about 6 inches long. Fence posts made from hedge are so hard they don't rot, and are impervious to termites and other insects.
End of lesson .

So, since we've had something peculiar to my part of the world....how about something found only where you are?

The majestic Aoraki/Mt Cook, found only in New Zealand!
At over 12.000 feet it is our highest peak, Aoraki means Cloud Piercer.

Mt Cook, Hooker Valley

You probably had a plant or animal in mind but this is what came to mind.
Along the same theme, lets see a picture of something that is iconic to your home.

What, never heard of it? When this picture was taken, it was known as the Sears Tower.

Ooops! I sort of like this current theme. How about something that would be considered your town's, nation's, area's claim to fame?
