Looking good this week And I didn't even realise until today that the whole picture is kind of autumn-y and thanksgiving-ish Looking forward to seeing more edits!

Default liking all the results

I really like the results that I see here, it is showing me so many options for these shots (there were more). When I stepped outside and saw the leaf match, I know what I was looking to capture, and what I did NOT see when I looked at the results. I started to delete them because I knew they did not have what I was looking for, now I am going to play with them...and think really outside the box. And yup, fall leaf in a planter of fall mums, that did work out well, didn't it.

Hi, I'm new around here and it's my first time to post. I'm still familiarizing, so kindly let me know if I'm committing any infraction or breaking any rules.

The image already works for me. I love the interplay of the reds and yellows. What I would like to do is introduce some imbalance in the contrasts and evenness of colors, so that the eye of the viewer will be drawn to the yellow leaf at the center.

DPS-boost

What I did:
- added a dark vignette around the image
- slightly boosted the colors
- significantly increased contrast

again at a loss for ideas but happy for the opportunity....

polar coordinates....several layers of the same oval selection.....each smaller than the one before and each rotated 180 degrees....a gradient adjustment layer of yellow (center) and magenta (outer)....

i thought it kinda looked like a basket or a nest....

thanks again

bon voyage

I don't remember what I did...
I know there is some motion blur here....
alittle bit of saturation removal...
a pinch of isolating the flowers with the magic wand...
cutting and cloning
and creation of the floating leaf using bits and pieces of the main leaf

Flower

I will try and remember what I did
  • Changed the color contrast by selecting the background image and gave a bit of a Gaussian blurr
  • Applied 'Glowing Edges' Filter
  • and then selected the leaf and added "Ink Outlines" fliter after changing the contrast

I sometimes like the soft and dreamy look on these. A little over-done but quick and dirty.

Auto Levels
Lasso a circle around the focus flower at 150 feather.
Brighten and increase contrast.
Invert selection and lower brightness and increase contrast a little.
Paint a dark frame around the edge with a large darken brush.
Duplicate the layer twice and Gaussian Blur each at 8.5.
Set one to Overlay the other to Screen, both with roughly 30% Opacity
Flatten and soften a little more with another layer copy, Guassian blurred and set to 44% Opacity.(Bump this down for less over-doneness)
