Heya,

I tried my luck in editing this picture. So there it is.

Crop.
Adjusted Temp/Tint slightly.
Adjusted some of the Orange Saturation.
Adjusted the Tone Curve
Added a Vignette to it.

Hope you'll like it.

hmm.. i tried to get away from just minor adjustments, and give it a different feel altogether..i'm hoping it feels more like a drawing than a photograph..

so, crop, some color adjustments, and vignetting..
then ran it into photoshop and just duplicated a layer on top (30% opacity) with a cutout filter..

lemme know what you guys think!

Default Bird Crowed

This looked like fun...

Full Size
Using the GIMP on Ubuntu Linux
- Used "liquid rescale" preserving the size/shape of the birds to give the photo a more crowded feel.
- Cranked up the saturation (set to 50)
- Used Unsharp mask to crisp it up a bit.
- Duplicated the image to another layer and hit it with gaussian blur set 10 pixels and set the layer to overlay at 50% opacity
- To make the sky a little less dull, I added another layer duplicated off the image with everything but the skyline masked off and set to overlay at 50% opacity.

Little croping, played a bit with luminosity and saturation, added a halo and voilà...

Here's my play--

dup layer
played with channels (looking for the right sepia mixture)
blurred all but the 2 focal birds
blurred the background even more
applied a gradiant to the outer edge
played with Layer Styles & added frame

I was going for a very old look, sort of like those old prints that used to be printed on matboard (At least that's what it looks like.) I have a picture of my great great grandpa that has the look I was shooting for.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. This is just my favorite challenge. Love what you guys have done with this image.
Sorry I missed last weeks challenge to post for you but will get this weeks in early for you guys.
Sharin, I really like what you did with this. The colors were my bigest challenge and you overcame them!
