so, i admit it...i spent ten whole minutes farting around with this one....

101_0510b

curved it to the extreme.....duplicated the background layer and desaturated it....hit it with a little of the find edges and blended the two....hid a layer of white between the two and erased the background stuff that bothered me across the girlie's nose and around the other subjects...oops....i decided the image went too far into the frame and added a couple of layers of a white vignette...

anyway, it works for me.....

peeper I really like this one.....it shows the details that are important to the photo and gets rid of the matter that simply doesnt matter! nice work for 10 minutes.

well some really are into the real looking edits and the purity of the image is important. They don't want it to be something different afterwards just better than it was...I like seeing peoples takes on things and the way they turn things into more of an artistic version of a real photo. Not saying that its not artistic adjusting levels and cruves and hue and sat to get a better photo but i just like the out of the box thinking.

Default .oO( Now where did I put that cutlass. )

Created a new layer, filled it with color (#d89551) and set its mode to color.
Adjusted the brightness and contrast of the initial layer until it looked a little bit washed out.
Created a new layer, selected it all. Used a script-fu to distress the selection, then feathered it by 50 and filled the outer edges with white.
Lastly I decided I wanted a vignetting, so I created a new layer under the previous two. Created a oval shaped selection around the image, feathered it and filled it with black. Then I set it's mode to overlay and duplicated the layer three times.

What you would do #26

GOAL: I've been at a bit of a loss for this one all week. I didn't want to go the "fix" route because many of you already did a great job with that. So instead I decided to antique the image, like it was a photo from the actual time of pirates. And I see Jamesc359 had a similar idea!!

What I did (in Paint Shop Pro XI):
-2 unsharp masks (radius 75, strength 30, clipping 5)
-Adjusted histogram midtones (-20) for contrast
-Put photo through the 'time machine' to automatically apply sepia tones and a mild vignette (cuz I was lazy)
-Added noise
-Added a 'scratchy' border

So, yarrrrrrr, that's all I could muster this week me hearties...

peeperita, i like yours!!

I'm so sorry but I had to try my hand at this one again. All i did was to outline the face and then did the same with the pic of Mr. Depp. Copied and pasted into selection. I then duplicated and set to mulitply and burned the sky. and oh yea, I painted the hair but didnt do such a great job at that one
