My apologies, Iam new here and guess I am to blame for that. Twenty-four hours had passed since Canadian Mum had guessed correctly, and I thought that the twenty four hour rule applied to posting of the new image as well. So I ask for a new image Again my apologies, I have since gone back and read the rule closer and realize that it doesn't state a time limit the winner has to post a new image. However, it maybe be useful to post a time limit on posting the next image so that the thread doesn't go dead.

Wanman,

The game has evolved out of usage: what works has become the rules. Usually the Macros are lined up, waiting to post. Not everyone has that luxury, though, either being new to the site or not yet having good Macro equipment. We waited 5 days for a new post, not long ago!)

If enough people ask for it, a 24-hour limitation can apply to both length of time for a Macro to be guessed, and time span between a winning guess and next Macro post. It may try the patience, but it means more new people will have an opportunity to play.

We may add a suggestion to the rules that if and when you make a guess, it would be a good idea to have a Macro ready to post, just in case you win.

We might make it a poll in Chat; that might draw more attention to the game, too.

Canadian Mum had the first correct guess for the lock parts; that got passed over. She was about to post her Macro after guessing correctly again when someone got impatient, didn't read the previous comments, and posted ahead of her.

For those of you too young to be courteous, or too competitive to be kind, when a person wins, you acknowledge that. If that person doesn't say "Pass," we wait. Canadian Mum is next.
Whoa, whoa, whoa. I'm not a young, competitive jerk. 24 hours had passed and there was a post asking if anybody had a shot. Yes, I admit I did not stop and find the rules for this particular game. I made an assumption that it was like all the other games I participate in. I apologize to Canadian Mum for jumping in line ahead of her. As far as the post I am quoting?...maybe a PM would have been a nicer way to bring this to my attention vs. implying that I am "too young to be courteous, or too competitive to be kind and acknowledge that" or that only a few hours had passed. I will step away from the Macro game.

I always reread and adjust my posts to fit the situation. If the comment doesn't fit, ignore it. If you can do better in playing the game by reading the rules first, read the rules, or ask in a post. This isn't directed at anyone as much as it is for everyone to rethink the concept of gamesmanship.

Unless I type your name at the beginning of a post, there's no reason for you to be offended, or assume any part is pointed your way. I checked back some months, and Canadian Mum has been wronged several times in this game. So I think courteous competition needs to be brought back into play.

What you step away from is up to you.
