Default What Would You Do? 108

This weeks challenge, includes one a wonderful old old place from TTHW.
I see lots of potential with this one.
The rules are simple, edit the image anyway that you see fit. Remember, to post the steps you took to acheive your final product. This challenge is as much about learning as it is about sharing with others so that they may learn.

Now, let's see what you would do!

If you would like your image to be posted please send me a medium sized photo (html code would be a plus) and a link to a larger version

This does not belong to me-its for a challenge on DPS

my simple try experiment , and you can slap me if you don't like it,

gimp.jpg

this is basicly what i did.
go to filter select noise (HSV),
and try moving the slider.

adjust brightness ;lessen it,
add contrast a bit.

unsharp mask(just don't overdo it)

Love it love it, love it!
I had to go with dark and scary. All i did was to apply 2 texture layers. One had the blend mode on overlay and one on soft light. Played with opacity levels. Next I added 2 tubes and set the blend mode on overlay and erased any areas I didnt want. Added a vignette and burned midtones on the house

Kind of a nightmare on DPS street

old_house

and what i did...
lets see, i lightened it with curves, i lowered the saturation and added a sepia-ish tone, i used a whole bunch of different filters on a bunch of layers all at only partial opacity (including torn edges, glowing edges, lens correction (for vignetting) um... i don't remember the others) and used a few brushes to add some darkish lines... i think thats it, but i was just messing around for a bit, might've forgotten something :P

Once again, I've gone mad with photoshop. haha. There was a lot of playing around with this one, so again, I didn't get to writing down my steps that I did. I did a lot of burning, dodging, duplicating, changing layer options, beveled it a few times...for the colors, i used a basic brush and put those layers on "color" and I did a lot of transforming and shifting the angle of the actual photo..As for the duck, I did a simple select from the photo i took last weekend of three ducks near the beach and dragged him into the photo, changed his coloring with image>adjustments>hue and saturation. ..uh, yea..the end?
ooohhh yeaaa, i cropped it and did a layer of render>clouds and changed some blending options to get a foggy effect near the beginning of all this madness XD

I love my Canon Rebel XSi and use it when I can, but my little Canon SD750 will forever be my first baby whom I will never neglect.

Steps: copy layer, set layer mode to overlay, opacity 50%, merge, make second copy, rotate with 180°, set opacity 50%, merge, set vertical offset to 50% with scroll. Software: Gimp.

Ok, you guys can keep all your creepy movie effects! (Hmm, now that I think about it, it might be the witch's house in Hansel and Gretel. Oh well).

Duplicate layer, select only the house, use gradient tool set at 50% opacity with a swirl effect to get the house to be pink, mask out windows, clone out some of the trees, Add lollipop as layer and mask out unwanted areas, add roof as layer and use transform tool to get it fairly close to the correct angle, add candy canes as layer and mask, add peppermint stepping stones as layers, added coloring texture as layer and set mode to overlay.

Not my best piece of work in the world, but it made me smile.
