Default What Would You Do (#21)

Can you believe that it's already been another week?

This week's picture is from Waffles.

Available Large

So, go ahead and edit it, and come back, show it to us, and tell us what you did. It's all about learning, and possibly learning something new.

Now, once again, I'm running out of pictures to use here! I have 2 from people who were kind enough to send me links to 2 pictures (thanks), but once those are used, we're out of pictures ... that is, unless people who want their pictures to be edited in one of these threads drop me a PM with a link to the medium and large size of the picture

Now, let's see what you would do!

WWYD 21

Applied curves, cropped the photo, duplicate layer, lasso tool around center player with 30px feather, select inverse and deleted. Applied motion blur to background, adjusted opacity of player layer, then applied USM to player layer only.

First I duplicated the layer, then I used a layer mask to erase everything but the center player. I then desaturated, and brightened the original image, and duplicated it. I applied a zoom blur to the top desaturated layer, with the center of the blur on the center player. Next I set the layer's transparency to about 60%.

Lastly I adjusted the white balance of the topmost layer to remove the yellow hue and then cropped the image down to bring even more of a focus on the center player.

Geez, the others look awsome compared to this on. All i did was turn it into a negative and crop it.

basically all I did was add a zoom blur to it using photo impact. It probably would have worked better had her hand been closer to the ball, but I still liked the general effect it gave.

oh yeah...and I cropped out the audience as well.

What you would do #21

GOAL: Make it look like it's a shot in a newspaper (an old one at that...).

What I did (in Paint Shop Pro Photo XI):
-Cropped down to remove audience
-Straightened so net would be horizontal
-Adjusted histogram midtones to increase contrast (twice)
-Unsharp mask (radius 75, strength 30)
-Aged newspaper filter to adjust color
-Curves adjustment to brighten
-Added borders
-Added text
-Erased various parts of text with low opacity
