Look, it's Tuesday and I actually remembered to post the WWYD thread on time
So hopefully we get a few more participants this week ![]() This week is a picture by WWYD regular, Teewinot: ![]() Available larger If you're new to these threads, then the rules are simple: Edit the photo how you want, come back and tell us what you did and how you did it. It's as easy as that! Now, if you want your picture to be the subject of one of these threads, drop me a PM with a link to the medium and large sizes of your picture and I'll use it in one of the upcoming WWYD threads. I'm always looking for pictures to use, so if you have one that you think has potential (or if you don't think it has potential at all), why not let people have a try at fixing it for you. Now, let's see what you would do with this week's picture

![]() All righty then. First thing I did was to enhance the colors of the moth. Then I used the flood fill to paint around the moth in black. Then I used the mirror image tool and mirrored the moth. Then I cloned out the lighter spots to make it more uniform. I then went into the effects area again and used the distortion tool & curlicues to make the moth look abstract. I then added a border by copying a color on the moth. and here you have phsyco moth!

For some reason I think that when I mentioned that number #20 was coming up last week, my mind said that we'd already had #20 when I labeled it this week Shouldn't you guys be editing instead if picking up on my mis-numbering? lmao

what i was going for was an outdoor shot at night where the flash reflects in the glass
![]() rotate, set black and white levels, duplicate, blur and overlay. use stock photo set to lighten for town 'background', hue/sat 'background', add lens flare the lens flare ends up as a 'halo' for the moth which i thought was cool

Here is my effort:
![]() - Cropped and rotated the photo - Did a curves adjustment using the Smartcurve filter for PSE - Duplicate layer - Color Burn layer blend - Duplicate layer - Gaussian blur then Overlay layer blend - high pass sharpen at 100% - +11 Hue/Saturation adjustment

When I took this shot a few months ago, I was forced to use a flash because I didn't have my tripod at hand and the moth certainly wasn't going to stay on my patio door window forever. So of course I ended up with terrible reflection, harsh light, etc. I thought it was a perfect candidate for WWYD.
![]() GOAL: Clean up the reflection and make it look like it wasn't shot through glass. What I did (in Paint Shop Pro Photo XI): -Straightened image -Cropped out most of the door -Increased contrast (curves adjustment) -Painted out with black all the reflective portions -Burned the body of the moth -Sharpened the body of the moth and the outer edges of the wings -Unsharp mask (radius 75, strength 20) -Increased saturation -Depth of field tool (to blur the head a little so it wouldn't look like I painted in black between the legs) -Cross-processed Photo effect filter

Not a crappy job at all in my opinion peeper. In fact, I think you did a really good job of making it look like there wasn't a window there. I'm still working on what I'm going to do. Looking good so far guys, keep it up
