bird
I knew that doves were symbols of peace but a pigeon with an olive branch?

Photoshop: I masked the bird using the magic wand, copied and pasted into another layer. Played around with the background colors by adjusting the curves, added noise, nothing looked good so I added clouds and ran the mosaic filter on the clouds. Found an olive branch photo, silo, copy and paste above the background but below the bird layer, set opacity to 80%. For the bird layer, I filled it with 60% white, then flattened all layers.

How I made it, in Gimp:
1. I fiddled with the curves, to give the silhouette of the bird.
2. I then selected the background and deleted it.
3. On a new layer I pasted the swirl background (from http://jarednuss.deviantart.com/art/...wirls-71168818)
4. Lowered the layer to be below the bird and there you are

moire

Using colour balance, changed him/her into a yellow bird(Why...I don't know!)
Duplicate layer, and filters/generic /mathmap/render/moire1
and reduced the opacity 'til I liked it!!!

Duplicated layer, masked out all but wings in each layer, rotated each wing set until they touched and looked like lips, colorized, used lasso tool with feathering to select outer areas, filled with black, reduced opacity to 40 %, flattened image.

did far too much with too little results.....

extracted bird from background and pasted on a new layer.....reduced to pure black......for the background i laid a gradient of purples and started adding stars with the custom shape tool......made a moon with the elipse tool and added bevel and emboss on one.....copied and added a slight texture to it's surface......weeds are again the custom shape tool.....layers of mist made from soft white and pale blue brushes...blurred them, ruduced their opacities and wove them between, behind and before all of the objects.....vignetted dark blue and a dark purple....flattened the whole thing before i realised i hadn't rasterized the effects which changed my moon completely......

went "oh well" and uploaded.....

Peeperita, I don't think you did too much and the result was great! Douglas
