This evokes a small town feel for me - my daughter & her friend chatting on the sidewalk after trick-or-treating in the nearby town of Carroll, IA - population of about 10,000. I'm sure I'll have more to post as we live in a town of less than 800.

Your photo has all the feel of a small town. The setting, the sidewalks, two girls able to sit quietly by themselves and share. By the way, the tree on the left looks HUGE!! In a town that small, you should have lots of things to post!

I like it, Dave! The fountain looks like a great place to quaff a brew, and I'll bet it's full of locals. On a rare day off, my wife and I went to eat breakfast in a local eatery in Monroe. One of the regulars had brought in a bunch of tomatoes from the garden, and our waitress passed us a plate of fresh slices to have with our breakfast. You won't find that at Denny's!!

We live in a big city (Sydney, Australia) however here is Woodstock, Vermont, USA. A beautiful small town ad a great intro to New England and small town America. We had an afternoon and evening there as part of our 2008 vacation..

This sign had us very confused, especially as we drive on the other side of the road, at least until we had a walk around the village for a few hours and figured out the layout..

Confusion.

(2) To me this is Autumn (fall) in New England, that is until we got to New Hampshire about 2 1/2 weeks latter.
Autumn leaves.....

(3) Very quiet on a sunday evening but great for photography.
Woodstock Pharmacy

(4) There were a number of beautiful old "Maine" (that was the description given by a couple of locals) cars in town.

Old timer

All pics: Canon 5D + Canon 24-105 F4 L IS lens hand held.

Thanks for looking.
