Default What Would You Do (#17)

First, apologies for being late by a day on this week's WWYD

Second, I can't believe that the WWYD threads have been going for 17 weeks, it doesn't seem like it's been that long! There has been a lot of creativity and innovation, and it's great to see people stretch their creativity.

Now, on to this week's WWYD. Peeperita kindly put up a photo of hers to be worked on by everyone in these threads.

Available larger

The rules are simple, take the photo, and manipulate it however you want in your post-processing program of choice. Come back here, show us the result and tell us what you did so we can learn from you. That's it, as simple as that!

Now, if you want your photo to be the subject of one of these threads, please, please, please drop me a PM with a link to the medium and large size of the photo, and your photo will get used in the order it's received.

So, let's see what you would do with this week's photo!

Here is my effort (not as cute as the one above though!)

wwyd17

Layers in PSE are (from bottom to top)
1 - Total white layer
2 - Photo with Pin Light layer blend and inverted
3 - Photo with Pin Light layer blend (not inverted)
4 - Photo with Overlay layer blend (I masked off a bit of the vase with a gradient to keep a bit of the vase colour)

I first duplicated the layer and put a 50% gaussian blur on the duplicate layer, and set the blend mode to overlay. I then duplicated the original layer again and put an emboss filter on the duplicate layer. Then I added a levels layer to brighten the image up. Then I added a mask to the levels layer so I only lightened up the vases, flowers, etc. and leaving the background darker.

GOAL: Vibrant color! Like a fiesta!!

What I did (in Paint Shop Pro 8):
-Cropped out the bottom objects
-Increased saturation several times
-Curves adjustment to increase contrast
-Curves adjustment to increase brightness
-Unsharp mask (radius 75, strength 15)
-Added a few borders

For this Artwork, I did the following things:

In Lightroom:
I simply retouched the exposure by lightening everything.
In Paint Shop Pro X2:
- added the contrast
- Adjusted the blue color (In Channel Mixer)
- De noised a bit
- Used the Brush Stroke effect with the following parameters:
* Softness: 13
* Brush: Bristles 160 Width 6 Opacity 63
* Strokes: Length 5 Density 55
* Lighting: angle 102 Color R 80 G 80 B80
- Added a frame and a black border.

WOW! I think this one is so far the most different takes on a WWYD thread since the beginning......and Nicole you're right. 17 week? Unbelievable!
I'll have to take a stab at this one this week! I have been negleting my duties on this thread.

I didn't try to do anything that would look like "PhotoShoped" even thou it is..
I have been trying out a tutorial I came accross called "Digital Blending" sort of like HDR on a shoe string.

This is the article but instead of two photo's I used the one photo and duplicated it then #1 I used levels to show shadow and #2 used levels to show highlight.. for the rest I followed the instruction for the Mask Blending

what would you do copy

I thought I'd throw one out there since its been a while.
I brightened it up and upped the exposure.
I then did an ink outline on what i wanted
then added a glamour blur and thats about it besides some little adjustements.
