Default What Would You Do (#92... I think)

WWYD has had a short leave of absence, but it's coming back. Starting next week, windrider86 will be posting the WWYD threads (so that they actually get posted on time ). So, if you would like to have a picture be the subject of one of the WWYD threads send a PM to windrider86 and she will use them to keep WWYD going

And appropriately enough, to pass the responsibility on, we have a photo from windrider herself:

The rules of the game are simple. Edit the photo in this post, then come back and tell us and show us how you did it. Easy as that!

Now, let's see what you would do!

So, guess I'll be the first with my own flower. First thing was to mirror it so the flower would be on the other side. Next was to create an adjustment layer for the stauration. Played with the hue slider tool until I got the hue of blue I wanted and then slid the saturation slider until I got it as deep of a blue as I wanted. Merged layers. Duplicate again and then added fractalious filter and adjusted opcaity to my liking. merged layers. Duplicate, I use Topaz Adjust A LOT and used this to get details in the flower. merged. Used the dropper tool to pick a color from the image and created a border only on the bottom using that color. Next I picked another color out of the image to use with my text. Clicked on the text tab (A little a) and chose my font and added text. Resized to my liking. Merged all layers

Just making it stand out a bit more on it's own...

edit

Sorry.. didn't realize I forgot to mention steps! (GIMP)
1. Duplicate layer - use "soft" paintbrush to paint background black
2. Merge Visible Layers
3. Duplicate Layer - Set layer type to "Hard Light"
4. Use Gaussian Blur set to "5" on the Hard Light Layer.
5. Merge Visible Layers - Save and done!

There are other ways to select/fill backgrounds, but I had the time and feel using the paintbrush can get better results with a bit of time and dedication!

How do I get the photo into my CS. I'm sure it's really simple but having a simple mind I can't work it out and while I'm not sure my result would be worth submitting I'd like to have a go.
Thanks

I just adjusted the shadows/highlights by increasing the darkened highlights and midtone contrast and then did a surface blur.

Here is my play. Duplicated the original layer and added a gradient map (of black and white) with a 75% opacity. And added some grunge texture.
