Default What Would You Do (#90)

We're starting the countdown to 100!

This week's shot is is a food photo from lbaranyai973 (and I have to say, it's making me hungry since I'm posting this at breakfast time!)

Picasa Web Albums - Laszlo - Practice - (Build 20090305133223)

The rules are simple as always. Use the photo in this post. Edit it, come back, and show us what you did. Then tell us how you actually accomplished the finished product. It may also be helpful if you tell us which post-processing program you used, just so that people aren't looking for functions that may not be there in the one they use. Don't worry if you use Picnik or Photoshop, it doesn't matter so long as you enjoy the post-processing fun.

If you'd like your photo to be featured as one of the WWYD photos, that's easy too. Just send me a PM with a link to the medium and large size of the photo. I use the photos in the order I get them, so sometimes there's hardly any wait, sometimes it's a few weeks, but rest assured, they are used and appreciated!

Now, let's see what you would do!

Not feeling too creative this morning so I did some really easy stuff. Used the Kalaidescope effect, boosted the red saturation, aaa foto frame and then mura meisters copies effect

i wanted crepes suzette.....

wwyd #90 take two

this has got to be a new record for me with the 25 layers i used to make the cherries and the syrup.....i failed a might in the believability scale, but here tis....

big hard, round brushes of red to form the cherries.....they were a bit too round so i warped each one randomly......same process to make the syrup....same brush but a huge blop....erasing it out so that it conforms to the contours of the crepes......added in layers of diffused whites and blacks to mold them into what i hoped would be three dimensional objects.....added highlights with hard white brush with chunks erased out.....

hindsight would have me drip more syrup over the right crepes....

duplicated the background above it all, flipped vertically and eased in around the bottom to get shed of that tablecloth......added shadowing beneath the plate so it wouldn't float and added light over the plate background to try to feature the food....

Default The Rare Crepuscular Canary

The laying of her eggs in warm food has made the Crepuscular Canary even more rare.

At first sight, the middle crepe said "nestling," so I followed that idea.

WWYD90X

Thanks to Yahoo! for the bird photo. After copying lbaranyai973's original to a layer:

- Added each of three baby birds and one egg, copy/pasted from second photo.
- Added shadows to match lighting on crepes
- Darkened, unsaturated original copy to emphasize birds
- Added text

Thanks! This photo demands processing and you have the talent to do so. I like them all so far today.

lbaranyai973,

That was fun! Thanks for adding your photo.

Douglas, thanks

lbaranyai973's work inspired many different views, including your yummy shortbread cookie with sliced nuts, jam, and an almond on top!

Default Flower out of food!

Cropped down just to plate and crepes, duplicated 4 times and positioned, used polar coordinates filter, used iwarp filter to create the flower form, opened asparagus as layer and masked out unwanted portions, opened watermelon as layer and masked out unwanted portions, along with lots of scaling and positioning along the way!

I like the idea of endless pancakes/crépes! Unfortunately they run out too fast.
