WWYD #88

I think I got to this in a round about way. Using Picnik
1. Color Boost of 60%
2. Cloned out the road and the picnic table
3. Two toned using a blue and cream
4. Add overall pink tint
5. Added vignette
6. Inverted color
7. Added border

right off the bat, i saw a snake in the tree's shape.....

3289665721_6e80b01a89_b

made a selection of the tree, erased a chunk out of the top to begin to form the snake thing's mouth......used the liquify tool to ease his shape into what i hoped to be a more slithery look....duplicated this layer and made another snake....flipped horizontally and liquified it into a slightly different shape.....

took out the roads in the back by selecting the background, duplicating it a couple of times and easing it around the tree and the snakes.....flattened these two layers into the background and curved it darker and more green.....still not green enough so i added a layer of olive and blended it in.....vignette over that to focus more on the snakes....

gave them some eyeballs that really suck but i was anxious to get out in the yard.....

selected snakes and flattened to one layer.....added in shadowing to hopefully match the scene's lighting.....colorized snakes and blended in......

Default FilmStrip effect

WWYD # 88

FilmStrip Effect

- Used a light lomo effect
- Added the film design and the inner black frame
- Beveled, embossed, and added the shadow under the film
- Rotated the merged layers
- Fiddled with the curves, contrasts, and exposures.

Didn't wanna do any heavy cloning etc. so I settled for just messing with blurs, adjustment layers and blending modes.

Default naeno's knot

When in doubt, duplicate.

WWYD88

But first, crop original after rotating some to realign tree. Sharpen, blur and darken background.

- Duplicate four times, reorient and join as shown in finished piece. Merge
- Using Distort, Sphere on lower tree joint, form a head of a beastly kind.
- Use brush to form eyes.
- Add vignette to darken.
- Add type "naeno."

1/ Used Viveza to saturate locally the vegetation's color
2/ Used Alien Skin's Bokeh plugin to remove the distracting background
3/ Pumped up the contrast with curves
4/ Used Selective Color Tool together with Hue/Saturation Tool to give a more pleasing color to the vegetation
5/ Added some vignetting using the Level Tool with a feathered mask
6/ Darkened with the Level Tools a bit
7/ Tweaked locally (using masks) the Trunk's color and contrast using Selective Color Tool and Curves.
8/ Final sharpening using the high-pass filter.

First post here - not sure how to upload image so added it as an attachment - hope it works.
  • Gave the tree image a fisheye distort.
  • Changed colours and saturation.
  • Added a fairy.
  • Had fun doing it!
