jtailspin,

Photo was flipped ("reoriented horizontally" according to my program). It just didn't occur to me it would need to be part of the written steps.

Withering Sorrow

edited in ps cs3:
- curves + mask to bring out sky
- increased contrast + adjusted saturation levels on yellow/cyan/green
- set an overall blue tone
- brought out red shirt just a tad bit
- smudged areas to reduce pixellation
- vignetted
- sharpened
- lowerd master sat levels
- type + widescreen border

i'm not sure if i improved this shot....or ruined it....

Picture097

crop...tweaked the shadows....new layer with just the boy....tweaked his shadows....flattened....toned down the red of his shirt....the cyan in his jeans and the sky....did a really poor job taking out the light posts with the healing brush.....and finally did an even poorer job of vignetting slightly.....

Here's my attempt at it.

Cropped a little, desaturated, boosted saturation for red, removed lamp-posts, added a yellowish gradient overlay, contrast adjustments, and a lot more I can't remember now

Man, Tuesday (NZ time) already... Watch for the next WWYD in a few hours.

As always, I've got to say I'm really impressed by the time and effort that people put into the editing process. It's fantastic to see all the different ways that the shots come out
