This week's WWYD doesn't come from a photographer here on the forums, however, the idea was suggested by Crane. The idea was one that will require some creativity on your part, but that may prove to be a fun challenge nonetheless. This week's picture is a public domain picture taken by NASA in 1976 from Apollo 17.
Available larger As usual, the game follows some very, very simple rules. Use the photo in this post. Edit it, then come back and show us what you did and tell us how you got there so that we can learn from your experience. It doesn't matter whether you use Picnik, Picasa, Photoshop, you can participate as long as you have something to edit the shot with. If you would like one of your pictures to be featured in one of these WWYD threads, simply drop me a PM with a link to the medium and large version of the photo. Now, let's see what you would do!

I'm actually really loving this challenge so far. I know it's a bit more difficult because it requires some extra post-processing thought, but so far the entries are great, really creative.

i haven't played this game in a long while.....but, this saturday i was a teensy bit bored.....
![]() ![]() alright......so i gift wrapped it with what i hoped would look like a big red bow....made from several warped red boxes that were treated with a layer style i also hoped would give the ribbon dimension...... i wanted to see some stars around it so i took a selection of the black sky and treated it with a dust and scratches noise filter tweaked to the max..... i thought it should glow in the sky so i added a gradient behind the earth and set that to....to.....something.... and what about a banding of clouds too?.....that was an oval selection filtered with ....what else.....a cloud rendering and set that to.....to......screen?.... and oh what the hey.....lets duplicate the clouds and set them to diffuse..... ta da..... ![]() peeper |

Okay, well I'm back to give this a try.
![]() I decided to borrow one of my recent shots (see below) as the backdrop, which made the editing process quite fast. ![]() What I did (in PSP X2): -Gave the earth a color boost with the Time Machine Tool (cross processed) -Pasted earth image as a new layer onto above hand shot -Used the pick tool to resize the layer -Erased the black around the earth -Positioned the earth into the right spot on the finger tip

I took a lazy approach
![]() Blank canvas with black as background. new layer- created stars with varying hues and sizes using brush tool Created nebula with the following steps: ...new layer - made a feathered, random selection and then filter-render- clouds using levels changed the amount and brightness of cloud ...repeated above two steps twice more with different colors for clouds added earth picture added frame masked areas on earth to show and hide frame respectively
