Default Wwyd (#80)

I wandered onto "Digital Photography School" over the holidays and just found the WWYD thread.

This is my first time playing along and I can't wait for more

Below are the steps that I took:

Duplicate Background
Isolate Stem, Increase Saturation to make Greens pop
Duplicate Stem Layer, Add Gaussian Blur on bottom Stem Layer
On Backgound Layer, Decrease Saturation, Add Smudge Stick Filter
Add Dark Vinette
Square Crop

Default Changed using Picasa3

I cropped the image to place the bud in the upper left 2/3 of the image, then played with the tools in Picasa3 to change the basic color to light yellow and soften the surrounding outer part of the image.

Just wanted to say to everyone who thinks they don't have the skill, look at what has been accomplished so far with programs as simple as Picasa

Default what would you do?

dpscool

This was done in Broderbund Print shop 20...a graphics program I use all the time and never see mentioned. You can do lots of things with it...they say version 23 is even better for photos..I have the new version but have not installed it yet. I think this was done in photo effects, after sharpening, brightening, contrasting...u name it. Just for fun...nothing complicated or especially clever.

What would you do #80

Adobe Photoshop 7.0
Coverted it to LAB color space.
Played with curves adjustment until it looked weird (the leaves were blue!).
Coverted back to RGB.
Channel Mixer to BW.
New layer, selected large brush, set the brush opacity to 75%.
Painted black X over it.
Selected and copied the X.
Pasted the X on the Green and Blue channels to get the Refused Photo effect.

I used Picnik

1. Darkened the exposure to -7
2. Upped the contrast to +14
3. Increased the saturation to +5
4. Applied 'Orton-ish' effect
5. Applied mirrored frame

This is what I got

Default Mother Nature's Daughter Gets Engaged . . .

Original is copied, copy is flipped left-for-right, rotated, cropped:

- Second copy is placed over first, turned negative, darkened, softened.
- Layer is set to Difference, 70% Opacity.
- Leaves are copied, pasted, saturated.
- Layer is set to Overlay, 80% Opacity.
- Third layer is vignette to darken perimeter.
- Sunbeam and prism refraction are created in top layer using Select, Lighten, Color Change
