Default Virtual Christmas Tree

I just finished decorating my Christmas tree, and as always I enjoy looking at all the unusual ornaments (bought or handmade) that I've collected over the years..and it got me thinking.

We should start a virtual Christmas Tree game here.

Nothing fancy or complicated..just post up a closeup image of any single holiday tree ornament you are fond of, and perhaps tell everybody else why it's so special to you.

Maybe we should limit to one pic per post...but that's not to say you can't come back and post another after a few other people have had a chance.

Pshoo..I guess I should have had an image ready..but I promise I'll edit one into this post today.

So..let's see what's on YOUR tree.

OK, I'll start. I am fond of this one because I have had it since I was a child:

My tree isn't up yet...but as soon as it is, I'll get a photo of my favorite ornament and post it!

One of my many favorite Christmas ornaments. This one was from my son's first Christmas 27 years ago. Still to this day he makes sure his ornament is prominently displayed on the Christmas tree for all to see.

Oh wow guys I"m so sorry I dropped the ball here. I've had some connectivity issues with my Flickr over the past week. I shall remedy my lack of pictures this instant.

Thanks for participating though.

CHRISTMAS OKRA ... courtessy of my sister Sharon who grew and picked it..and my niece Sam who painted it.

I understand there is a similar tradition up around Ohio that involves pickles.

Haven't had a lot of time to take pictures of what is on the tree yet. I was too exhausted by getting it up and decorated

Default My favorite ornament...

At my previous job, we did an annual Christmas ornament exchange. One year...1994 to be exact (the date is written on the back)...I received this ornament. It was well know around the office that I liked Goofy, so it was no surprise that I received a Goofy ornament...the surprise was that it was hand carved by my friend's Mom! It became an instant favorite and I liked it so much that I keep it out all year long. Tragically, my friend's Mom was killed by a drunk driver shortly after that Christmas. Every time I see it, it reminds me of my friend and her Mom and I will treasure it forever.
