Default My first camera, what was yours?

My first camera was a handed down 120 film camera. It was my dad's and he gave it to me when I was 11-12 years old (about 1967). I took a lot of pictures with it until I got a 104 instamatic, then an AE-1 later traded for an AE-1P and then digital..

What was your first camera and do you still have it?

Here's a shot of my first camera taken with my latest D90.

My first camera was a Yashica 35mm rangefinder camera. I think I got it when I was about 10 years old. It is long gone.

My first camera was a hand-me-down Kodak 110, it used a disposable flash pack which had something like 6 or 8 flashbulbs (yes, flash bulbs). It's probably still in my mother's attic somewhere, along with it's replacement (another 110, off-brand but with a built-in electronic flash and a selectable telephoto lens, woo!) and the 35mm Canon point-and-shoot I bought about 11 years ago to replace that.

I'd be tempted to go over there and dig them all out if the Atlantic Ocean wasn't in the way. Funny thing is, last time I looked our local Walmart still had a couple of 110 film cartridges on the shelf.

Brownie Box, what a fantastic piece of kit. The build quality was superb, qenuine cardboard, and the picture quality had to seen to be believed. I,ve progressed a little of the years but I sure miss my first.

A little Minolta 35mm I got for $2 at a yard sale when I was around 10. I remember being so excited that I had my Very Own Camera. It's still around here somewhere...

Our first digital was a Kodak EasyShare, then a year ago I purchased a Canon PowerShot A560, and used that while saving up for a dSLR, which I purchased about a month ago. I'm even more excited about this baby than I was about the Minolta.

My first camera was one given to me by my father when he purchased a newer model. It was a Kodak Instamatic model. I can not remember for sure which model, but looking at the Kodak time-line and how I remember the camera I believe it to be the Kodak Instamatic 104. I do recall it having the flash cube that rotated 90 degrees when advanced to the next exposure. I definitely don't own that one anymore.

My first digital camera was the Sony Cybershot DSC-S70. A 3.3 MP model I purchased in September of 2000. I think it sold for about $850 at the time (At Breckenridge Ski Resort Prices). That one I still do have. It still makes a nice image.

My very first film camera was a little point and shoot, I can't even remember what kind, when i was about 8 or so, maybe even a bit younger - my mom was big time into photography, she had a Canon SLR of sorts until it got stolen...

I have since progressed beyond film into the digital world, first to an HP digital camera (that took not so fantastic photo's) and then my husband bought me a Panasonic Lumix for my birthday 2 years ago, and now I got my perdy lil Nikon D80 :-) Another gift from my husband! :-)

Grandma's Camera, still works. If you can find film and flash bulbs
