Resize, crop, adjusted color with extra layers (1 screen + 1 overlay), added textile pattern (9x9 pixel, direction: 135 deg, elevation: 45 deg, deep: 5 pixel). Software: Gimp.

I was thinking of a realistic wooden frame, but like it better this way...

Here's my 1st WWYD post:

WWYD 70

lightened the photo with levels;
high pass filter;
selected the flower (need to learn to do a better job here), then inverted to get the background;
lightened and desaturated the background a bit;
then inverted again to select the flower and boosted the red channel with a curve adjustment; and
added a subtle vignette.

Fun exercise. And I need the practice.

I noticed everyone was going lighter everywhere, so I thought I would do some selective lighter and try to PP it like I would want to take the shot!

Also am playing with a new trick that I read from peeperita >here<

Selectively lightening the flower with a white brush, while eliminating the background with a black brush and using the lasso select for the finer points around the blossom.

Amazing what such a simple trick and a layer can do!

I had a lot of fun with this one, I liked how it turned out.

Edited using Picnik.com
What I did:
Turned up the exposure, contrast, shadows/highlights
Sharpened it just a little bit
Made the photo Black and White
Put the flower and the edges back in color
Added a teensy bit of vignette to the edges

And I was done!
