Well, since I already had the lizard isolated, I figured why not lure it into a jar (but it's too smart to go in all of the way!):
![]() To do this effect, you have three layers: the empty jar as background image, on top of that the lizard image, then you put a copy of the jar layer above the lizard, and set it to the "hard light" blending mode. Last edited by Sela; 09-13-2008 at 12:51 AM. |

![]() I work in Aperture and tend to turn knobs until I'm reasonably happy... Rotate Crop Some black point until I get clipping A little less saturation and vibrancy Level adjustments to bring out some color but the image is a little low in information in this range. Suppress highlights a bit Use clone repair tool to remove the squiggle coming out of his side and some of the scratches in the bark. Use the color tool to try and desaturate the bight blue in the lizard's left front leg. I wasn't completely successful. I tried to remove the shadow in front of the lizard's head but that made it hard to see where the tree ended and the lizard started so I left it. I think that is most everything |

I tried to isolate this lizard, and I am having a TERRIBLE time. Can someone tell me what to do...
?

Private: I had a hard time using any isolation shortcuts because the lizard and the background share the same tones/colors. In the end I just duplicated the layer and traced around the lizard manually with the eraser tool (if I were being really careful I would have used a layer mask but I was in the mood to live dangerously
).

Sela, Thanks
This was a fun one. private, Squint: you can see the separation between lizard/background in an enlargement better. Also, Select/Delete in small segments is fast and accurate, also reversible.
