Basic steps:
Cropped, played with levels, cloned out 'sensor bugs', duplicated layer, glowing edges, changed oppacity. Created new layer, moved to bottom, filled with light blue. Changed second layer mode to screen (to lighten the entire effect) Merged all layers. Applied Rubiks cube . Changed background to my own creation. Added frame and resized. A fun effect.
Genie,

This is amazing! When you say: "applied Rubiks Cube" are you referring to a program?
I want to learn how to do this effect (I hear myself saying this with a slight whine

What a great idea - I've never noticed these threads before.

I rotated so the flowers were pointing upwards, cropped & cloned the missing sky. I adjusted the hue & saturation within the yellow to make the flowers a little lighter/brighter. The sky colour was tweaked a little to match the sky looking out of my window now. Then I added some extra sky and some text. It looks very English to me now.

Remember a little Blue Cheese or something of your choosing goes really well with a little whine

Actually it is an action in Photoshop. Free from this website..
http://www.panosfx.com

They have other free actions that I have not tried yet and you can purchase one that will allow you to use different images for each side of the cube. The nice thing about this action is you can watch the steps and with a little creativity create one yourself that uses three different images.

Try it, I would love to see some of your results

Blue cheese, eh? Well, what happens when you have a full blown temper tantrum? As in I have a Mac. I get knocked off my Mac-ier-than-thou high horse in moments like this. I have not completely given up hope. I must refer to my computer literate son for this matter, though. Otherwise, it's window shopping with no buying.

Thanks...mostly

I forgot that I needed the steps until after I had flattened it...so, roughly I duplicated the picture and added a gausian blur and changed the blend mode (I don't remember which mode). Then I duplicated the original again and changed its mode to overlay (at some reduced opacity). I followed with a texture layer in overlay mode at a reduced opacity and finished with a frame action.
