Default Point of view

Mirror imaging is a way of placing subject in a stronger compositional area. Sometimes it helps to keep our attention inside the frame longer.

WWYD63X

After the flip left to right and a small crop, that copy becomes the base layer:

- Numerous small areas are cloned out as distractions, mostly lighter ones.
- "Tribe" sign is copied from original, adjusted for perspective, pasted over backward sign.
- Strings are cloned, added/subtracted
- Copy of face is lightened, contrasted
- Copy of eyes is lightened, contrasted, catchlights increased.
- New sky applied as a layer, background brought through by erasing.
- Slight vignette added to focus attention on face

Hey guys, this is my first time posting here!

For this image I applied a bit of a blue gradient to replicate the sky. I also highlighted the catchlights in his eyes as well as cloning out the shirt in the background. I then added a new layer of a brown-ish color on Hard Light at a low opacity.

Wow, jiminy - what a great job. Not only are the colors excellent, I'm still trying to figure out how you switched the sign....

Yay, those are a lot of good edits, and creative ones too! Really, lots to learn from here, thank you all.

Thought I'd share -- This really charming old man spoke only his native dialect but he could communicate with his smile. His kulintang-playing was a "side attraction" at an indigenous architecture fair. He was actually sitting down, resting, when we saw him, wiping his face with that towel on his shoulders (surely not part of the traditional garb), but happily obliged to play for the kids visiting. His hands DID move like lightning, and we were all awed.

Hello everyone. I thought this guy's face had alot of character so I did some heavy cropping to bring it out. Other than that I blurred the background a bit more and increased the saturation. Hope I did it right.
