bull

Used the Auto setting on curves to get myself a better exposed image to stat with. Then I used a pencil drawing action. Set that layer on Linear Burn (65% opacity) and lyed it on top.

DPS: What would you do? (#54)- I

I calculated the red channel, desaturated the original image and overlayed the new "red" image blurred. It's a kind of infrared trick I learned a while ago. The blurred image over the original gives it that soft aura I really like.

Then,

DPS: What would you do? (#54)- II

This one is a little bit more extreme. I used curves exclusively to increase the exposure and then play with the red and green tones to get a sort of retro-vintage look. Then I added a vignette.

Here is my go at it:

I did a couple layers one with glowing edge and color dodge 30% opacity to try to bring the halo around the center cows head into more prominence. I also obviously removed color from the rest of the image and edited the hue/saturation of the center cow. I will keep more detailed account next time, but I'm at work doing this Added some noise in there somewhere too.

I used Picnik and
1. added a light texture overlay
2. added the faded daguerreotype effect
3. added focal softening
4. combined the images
5. added a slight vignette

Edited on Picnik

1.Cropped it in,
2.Turned up the sharpness a bit,
3.Turned up the exposure,
4.Turned to Sepia,
5.Turned the tag back to yellow,
6.Colored their eyes,
7.Applied black vignette to the edges.

Enjoy!

Here is a half hearted attempt. I was talking to my wife while doing this and also the incoming alarm went off so i had to run to a bunker. but here is what i did haha!

cropped original photo to a portrait orientation.
clone stamped out any imperfections i didn't like.
lab color and unsharp masked the detail channel only 150/2.0/5.0.
converted back to RGB.
duplicated layer.
adjusted levels on layer1
adjusted vibrance +20 layer1
adjusted saturation -10 layer1
adjusted levels on layer2
gaussian blurred 10px layer2
hard light opacity layer1
