It was such a rainy day and I forgot about the flash b/c the day b4 it was sunny and I did not need it. I guess you should try and get some good sleep when you travel...lol
The rules are simple. Edit this photo however you would like and come back and post your results and what you did in this thread. By explaining your process you help all of us learn. Don't worry if you're a complete novice at post-processing these threads are for you too to help you learn about how to post-process. And for all you experts out there, why not share what you know so the rest of us can learn from it.

If you'd like your picture to be the subject of one of these theads *please* send me a PM with a link to the medium and large version of the photo. I use them in the order that I get them. The queue is pretty short again, so now's the time if you're looking for some post-processing insight

Now, let's see what you would do!

I'm a newbie when it comes to this but this is what I came up with. I use a Mac and use Aperture for post processing.

2450066628_5435297a97_b (1).jpg

This is the data from what I changed:

exposure .49
black point .20
brightness .10
contrast -0.05
saturation 1.12
highlights 64.6
shadows 15.7
monochrome with red filter

Nice, pulled out quite a bit of detail there Are you using Aperture 1.5 or 2?

Nice I've got 1.5, and I haven't quite mastered the monochrome conversions in a way that I'm as happy with as I am when I do so in photoshop.

I usually like a bit more color. Here's my attempt...
2450066628_5435297a97_b

I changed the Levels to make it brighter, then added cooling filter.
I wanted a bluer sky, so I added a new layer, used a blue gradient on the top half & changed the fill % of that layer to 50%.
Then I erased that layer from the part of the picture I wanted to keep clear, but I don't think I did a good enough job of blending it.

Love what you have done with the sky Kerr

Here's what I've done... nothing special, just played with the colours, contrast etc to get a clearer pic. It may be a little too bright, my monitor show things very dark.

Thanks, Tajemi. You really brightened it up, much better than I was able to. Yours would make a great starting place for the blue sky again.

I didn't over do it did I? My monitor is just about at the end of it's life and really can be quite dark, so I have a habit of over lightening pictures. I didn't take much notice of what I did with the levels... so I couldn't put don't exactly how I adjusted them
