Here is mine.....

Lightened, contrast, Saturation, added layers, took out the sky, added a dry brush paint effect to it.....

Great job peeps--everyone's versions look fabulous!

Here's mine:

Messed with curves, added a sepia filter, messed with saturation, contrast & added a vignette and border.

I agree. These are all great! windrider86 did a much better job of what I was trying, with a slightly different spin. I didn't understand the explanation, so I know I still have a lot to learn.

BeardyWeirdy, I definitely like the "steam" version.

Can I explain a little differently to help you?

Train

I may have went too far with this one. I was going for break of dawn/foggy morning sorta look. First I did a screen layer to lighten Then a Sautration adjustment layer and mask to color the train portion only. Then I decided to crop. Next I applied a Color Dodge at about 60%. Then I added a Gradient Layer on the bottom to look something like fog. Next came a gradient layer at the top to give the sky a little more color. And final I added lens flare for the lights of the train and at the horizon to mimic the sun coming up. Ohh, and some where in the mix, I cloned some stuff out.

Anyone know of an on-line tutorial (free... ) for Photoshop Elements. I am soo jealous of everyone's creativity, I want to jump on the band wagon - I may also ask this question in another thread.
