We revisited Yellowstone in the summer of 2009 and we were amazed to rediscover how many bison there were and how easily you could see them from the road. We started looking for ones that were about to cross a road so we could get some shots. For wildlife viewing, Yellowstone is unparalleled. Whenever I see a bison now, I think of Yellowstone and the great trip we had.

I still think of this photo often. Especially when I feel down and out. It's not technicallly great or anything, but it still grabs me more than any photo I have. The loss of one sense made all the others more acutely aware. I felt he was seeing me, even through the blindness. I watched this cat play with the other cats for almost an hour before I realised he had no eyes. It still amazes me, and makes me feel extremely lucky about a lot of things.

Although this picture is more a snapshot, it represents one of the most wonderful times I've had with my son. We drove from Maine to Las Vegas and back again. This was a stop over at the Grand Canyon. The scenery was spectacular but could not hold a candle to all those moments of debating, sharing, and laughing with my son. A trip of a lifetime.

That one's my wallpaper on my 'puter.
Memories of the cruise my wife and I took to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. Taken on Grand Turks, in the Caribbean. Needless to say I'm easily distracted. ![]()

This one certainly isn't going to win me any awards, but it's one that made me glad I had a camera with me.
![]() Serious conversation by IABoomerFlickr, on Flickr I was in Columbia, SC for work. I had finished up earlier than expected and was stuck waiting around at the airport. I saw the guy on the right walking around the terminal and noticed both prosthetic legs had a NASCAR-like appearance to them. When I noticed him standing and having a conversation with the uniformed soldier, I grabbed this shot. It's a little soft and the foreground detail was a bit underexposed because of the bright backlighting and the inflexible P&S I was carrying, but it's a moment I'm happy to have captured. I can only imagine what they were discussing. |

![]() I have to laugh at myself every time I see this picture. This picture was taken this spring in Turks and Caicos at our lunch stop on the boat we chartered for the day. We had been snorkeling then conching and stopped for lunch. (This whole time the rum punch was flowing.) The conch had to be cleaned for our lunch and the boat's first mate was throwing the scraps into the water. I have a waterproof point and shoot. I did not see the shark My husband and the other couple got all excited and told me to get a picture in the water. I was in the water (and under the water) trying to get a picture. Still never saw the shark. Finally got a picture when I got out of the water (glad I got out). Could not believe I was in the water chasing that thing with my camera! And did I mention the rum punch? There is another story with the same people, and a bear in Alaska but no picture to go with that one!! |

A shark AND a bear?
With the same people? I wonder...
