1/1000, 50mm f/1.8, ISO 200.
This was a "shooting campout" for my son's Scout Troop. The kids were shooting .22's all day, and I got all sorts of shells ejecting, but no bullets. Same thing for adults shooting handguns - the shell ejections look pretty nice, though. This ended up being the only bullet-like capture I got all day. Here's one of the shell ejections: ![]() You can see more shots from the weekend here. |

I've managed mortar rounds, never tried with a bullet.
Only time I can recall seeing one in flight with the Mk 2 Eyeball is when we were shooting .22 Bee rounds in the Poconos.

Mortars prove that it's better to give than to receive!

for any of you that reload shells, you could put less powder and make the bullet slower. Just a thought. I used to reload. Might be easier to catch on camera.
JDPelfrey Also, taking the pic from behind would be easier. Just another thought.Good Luck Last edited by jpel3500; 03-11-2012 at 09:01 PM. |

the secret to a good bullet grab, is to set camera at fastest speed available for lighting conditions, set up on left side of shooter (if they are right handed, so hot brass doesn't go down your shirt. That causes camera shake which equals blur), have the shooter count off to 3 when he will squeeze trigger, and...
Click shutter on count of 3 and PAN REALLY FAST DOWNRANGE! ![]() Seriously, I don't think I have seen a bullet grab without a strobe set up. Has anyone? fishhead |
