I used Gimp 2 for my editings. 1) cropped to 3410x2558 to achieve simmetry; 2) spotted some bad editing evidence on the left between 500-100 (horizontal) and 1250-1500 (vertical)... So I decided to go on, and erase myself remaining people with the Clone tool and a bit of Gaussian Blur 3) duplicated layer 4) desaturated (method: average) original layer; 5) Enhanced contrast with a gentle S curve (Colors / Curves) 6) Set 2nd layer mode to Soft light, opacity 80% 7) Layer / new from visible 8) Free-Select Tool: selected an irregular oval around picture 9) Select / Feather 400 px 10) invert selection 11) Colors / Brightness: -70 12) created artificial film grain with a grey layer and some HSV noise |

![]() I used CS5 and made the image a background for the model. To get DOF I duplicated the background layer and made a selection 2 thirds up then switched to quick mask mode. I applied 37% Gaussian Blur to the mask. Switched back to regular mode, inversed the selection then hit delete. This will create a seamless transition. On the top background layer I applied the Lens Blur filter to achieve a medium DOF look. Then I dropped in the model and spent the rest of the evening blending and color adjusting. Oh I also added a cast shadow to the model.
