I like the "pavement ends" pic jsherp. Sorry to hear about the close down of your company jpel, but nice aerial shot.

This one is driving through mountains near Melbourne in Western Australia. These tree ferns are huge!

County Road

Went to three more small towns yesterday; shot four more grain elevators. They'll be busy with the harvest in a few weeks. I've made some contacts so I can come back and shoot during the harvest. Have to figure out the best way to protect my gear from dust. Anyway, a road I traveled yesterday.

certainly didn't expect to see a Combi Van out in the desert of the Great Central Road in Australia. I took this photo through the side mirror of our 4WD looking back.

From Western Australia

my first attempt at shooting and driving lol. ( i know completely stupid xD) I was at a stop light near the air force base that I live on, and the scene just struck me at how common place it was to see hum-vees and other military vehicles mixed in with regular traffic around here, which I found interesting

stuck in traffic

I love the subject 'the road'; it evokes so many things and I totally have the wanderlust. Most of the photos I took in Africa (and here at home) were from a moving truck including this one heading towards Blyde River just before sunset. We could see the range from miles away, as this still was; the closer we got it just got bigger and more beautiful. The drive through the canyon was incredible, so steep and windy and the truck in front of us had a loose flapping canvas off its trailer. There were stalls on the edge of the cliff the whole way up, and people starting to walk home in the dusk

to Blyde River

almost straight out of the camera, just a slight levels tweak

Oh, and I meant to add, the pink kombi photo makes me think of Priscilla!

Thankyou everyone for your contributions - I am enjoying seeing your views.

This one is in a village in the Loire Valley south of Paris. I'm sitting in the back seat which is why you can see the dashboard!

Moraine View

The low hill in this picture is a moraine, the mound of dirt and rock pushed up in front of a glacier as it moved forward during the last ice age. As the glacier retreated the mound remained.
