Default What What Would you Do #142

Rules are simple. Edit this image in anyway that you see fit, all you have to do is post the steps you took to achieve your final product. Its a neat way to see what other people have done and learn from their steps and to also improve your own processing skills.

Douglas, as always THANK YOU!!!!!

lol poor kitty
First I pasted a lion over the top of the kitty and then matched up the noses. Erased all areas I didnt want to show. Next I cloned the kitties fur on top of what was left of the lion so it would blend in.
Merged layers. used the warp tool for the eyes and ears on a duplicate layer and then merged again.
Then I used the pick tool to draw a selection of the background and then pasted it onto the other side to complete the back ground.
For the blood on the teeth I used the change color tool and simply erased any areas that were too red. This of course was also done on another layer. Merged layers and cropped.
Duplicated one last time and applied Niks midnight effect and then erased around the teeth. Now we have evil kitty

What Would You Do #142

In Paint Shop Pro:
 • Cropped the original image.
 • Applied noise reduction to the background area.
 • Duplicated the image on a new layer and converted to black & white with a blue filter.
 • Set the b&w layer to blend mode to Luminance and merged.
 • Duplicated the image on a new layer.
 • Adjusted the brightness/contrast, applied Gaussian Blur, and the Brush Strokes art media effect.
 • Duplicated the original again on a new layer.
 • Applied heavy sharpening, deleted everything except the cat's face, and applied the Brush Strokes effect with a finer brush style.
 • Set the layer to Dodge and adjusted visibility.
 • Duplicated the original layer again.
 • Adjusted to very high contrast, applied heavy sharpening, and median filter.
 • Set layer to dodge, adjusted visibility, and then erased any areas of the layer where the highlights were too extreme.
 • Merged Image.
 • Duplicated image on a new layer, applied Zoom Blur, and masked the layer with a circular gradient to reduce the effect on the center of the cat's face.
 • Merged the image.
 • Added a hue adjustment layer and masked everything except the eyes to change the eye color to a greener color, merged the image.
 • Cropped the image again and added a vignette.
 • Applied a very fine Brush Strokes effect.
 • Added a border.

Cheshire Cat (apologies to Lewis Carroll)

cheshire cat

Selected center of picture with feathered edge
Played with colors "to taste"
Changed eyes to a red.
Selected and copied a picture of a grin, and pasted onto the new cat, cleaned up with the eraser.
Added new background with pale color and reduced opacity, and blended.

Default Fiery Feline WWYD #142

Fiery Feline

Here's how I did it: (In Photoshop CS2)
1. Used the Redfield Fractalius Plugin and chose the Glow 50 option
2. Cloned out some of the light streaks from the background
3. Adjusted curves and saturation to bring out some color
4. Cropped the image and added a neon color border

Yummy, cat food!

Opened original picture, opened tongue as layer and masked out unwanted portions, scaled, messed with layers and duplicated, did an edge select filter on the duplicated layer and turned it into an overlay, selected (with fuzzy edges) the area around the pupils and filled with black, slightly reduced the opacity of the tongue layer, flattened.

This poor cat has had one rough week! Lots of fun edits!
