Cropped to bag, duplicated 4 times and set layers up like a large rectangle, applied the "mosaic" filter to each layer and merged, opened picture of living room as layer, scaled and transformed the bag rug to the correct size, masked out unwanted portions, colorized bag rug, flattened.

Did something along the lines of..

Loaded into PS CS4, Converted to "Sepia", increased contrast, reduced saturation, added a little noise, lightened slightly, cropped to look like an old snapshot.

Well, I actually played with a few artistic filters here. I made 3 duplicate layers of the original (after doing a bit of a curve play to it). One layer I made "Cartoon", the 2nd I made Emboss with white transparent, then the 3rd one I made neon. I played a bit with the transparency of each layer until I achieved the effect I wanted. Then merged all layers together and took a bit of the cartoon effect off the face by smudging just a bit. I then added a black border, duplicated the layer, enlarged the duplication and added a gaussian blur to it. I then added a thicker border to entire thing.... all while using my free time at work! =)
