Default What Would You Do? #139

We have a fun one this week from edbayani. Looks mighty challenging tome, how about you guys? Are ya up for it? I think so....................

eggs copy

The rules for the challenge are simple. You can edit this photo in any way you see fit. Change it into something different, add character sto it or enagnce it in anyway, all you need to do is tell us the steps you took to acheive the look you ended up with.

So with that being said: Let's see what you can do!!

eggs with hatching chick

i'll start. i took a photo of a broken egg shell and got an image of a newly hatched bird.
i dragged both to the original eggs photo and using free transform, adjusted the size and position. with layer mask, i tool out all the excess images on the eggshell and the bird and with levels, adjusted the color and density of the eggshell. flattened.

eggs easter copy
here's another one, but i already posted this under post processing forum. i'm just reposting this to greet the "what would you do group" an advanced easter greetings!.
i selected the shapes using paths and making it a selection. i did not fill the selection with color. with color balance i changed the color of the selected portion of the egg, adjusted it in hue and saturation, to preserve the textures and shading.

Default WWYD: When you are happy...

When you are happy, it shows!

Here is what I did using PS CS2:
1. Using Image>Variations I changed the hue of the entire pic to blue so as to retain textures
2. Selected the central egg and using variations again, added more yellow to it
3. Using the brush tool painted faces

It was fun!

This was the first thing I thought of when I saw the image...
I didn't do much :
- found some googly-eyes
- rescaled them and pasted them onto the egg (using The Gimp).

What Would You Do #139

I recently read an article about the stone spheres of Costa Rica, so I was inspired to give these eggs a stone look.

In Paint Shop Pro:
  • Removed the frame from the original image.
  • Applied noise reduction and enlarged.
  • Adjusted the brightness/contrast and converted to black & white.
  • Added different stone images on separate layers, set blend mode to Overlay or Color and adjusted layer opacities.
  • Added a Levels adjustment layer to refine the contrast.
