Sorry, I'm not familiar with your camera. Are you the only photographer or are you just taking shots in addition to what a pro is doing?

If you are new to photography and not too familar with your camera, I suggest staying away from the manual, shutter and aperture priority modes for now. You might want to let the camera make the decisions. Since you don't have image stabilisation, make sure you hold the camera steady or rest it on something to avoid camera shake although the anti-blur may help. Take a lot of shots, it will give you more options if things aren't turning out well.

Thank you for your reply . Yes I am the only or main photographer as the wedding is being done on a buget . As he is remarring his wife after being devorced for about 3 years . Strange I know . The manual says about using the prot function . Is it the lower the iso the brighter the picture ? I have a 1 Gb card in the camera so should be able to get loads of shots in . Thank you once again and a merry christmas

I'd pop the little fella mostly on Auto if you have just bought it. There are lots of settings [portrait being one] that you could have a go at.. Get the camera out and take lots of photos of the people around you before the "big day" get familiar with it and practice. You want to know where all the buttons are on the day. Take shots with as high a quality as the card will afford you on the day. Good luck...

Yeah, I think full Auto is the way to go if you are new at this. Get in close to a lot of people so you can capture their faces. Keep your shots as simple as you can, and if you pose anyone, make sure the backgrounds are not cluttered. Practice so you don't fumble around too much. Do you have any post processing software? If not, try Picasa for some easy to do and free editing.

That's great! Can you share any? What are some of the things you tried that worked well and what didn't work for you?
