S100FS not displaying any image info

Ok, I really don't feel good about this one. My camera is the Finepix s100fs. I was taking a picture of my daughter like I have many times before, when the viewfinder stopped displaying the image received through the lens. All of the information such as ISO, shutter speed, aperture, grid lines, etc are still displayed. Pictures that have already been taken can be played back. However, when I try to take a new shot, the review only posts a white screen. The LCD exhibits the same behavior. I've tried a complete system reset, as well as removing and reinserting the battery. It sounds like a sensor problem to me.
I have an email into Fujifilm support but I was wondering if anyone here has seen this or has any other thoughts on this. Any information is appreciated. Thanks.

I wanted to update this for anyone who might have a similar problem. I finally contacted FujifilmUSA by phone, as my initial email never received a response. The tech on the line was very courteous and deduced that it is most likely sensor failrure. I am going to have to send it for repair, but it is covered under warranty, so I only have to cover shipping costs, I believe.
