Hi everyone!
I am trying to decided. The camera I have now is about 5 years old it is a Finepix S3000. I love it.... but it is only 3.2MP and I need/want an upgrade. It looks like the difference with the above camera's is mainly MP ..... Hoping anyone can give me some more info on what they think..... I love photography and have for a long time.... just recently became more involved again and learning more about DSLR .... Thought one of the above cameras would be a good stepping stone and I dont have the $ or education to venture totally into a manual camera.... ![]() Thank you all! I personally have not tried either of these cameras, so I can only tell you what I know from a bit of research.
If it were my choice, I would go with the 8100. It has a larger focal length (27-486 v 33-396) plus the added advantage of Image Stabilization. It can also be manually focused. Those things alone make it closer to a DSLR and give you far more options. Check this comparison. |

According to me, Fujifilm Finepix S8100fd is a good option. You should try once. The features are really very good.
