Fuji S8100fd Newbie Here

Hi

I joined today to try and learn more about using my camera. Have found this site great for information on settings and understanding them. My pictures so far have been poor, I use zoom for bird pictures, Hopefuly I'll figure it out soon.

I also purchased a 8100fd around Christmas, and I am learning as well.

Someone posted on here a while back about a zoom error they were getting. I was trying to find this person. If it was you, I recently found a note in the manual saying you would get this zoom error if your hand was on the autofocus ring. If it was not you, maybe the other person will see this message.

Also bought this camera recently, been playing with it, but have a long way to go till I work things out. My main criticism is that the manual is on a CD so not so easy to read and "play" with the camera, other than at the PC. Wondered if you guys have found any helpful sites (other than here) that help?

Just wanted to say hi. This was the camera I have plumped for. Waiting for it to arrive in the post. I have had mixed reviews about it, but generally a good low end camera.

Looking forward to getting it and joining in here!
