Default FujiFilm s1000fd

Just bought one of these today off of amazon.com for $161.95 with free shipping. So excited, I can't wait to use it. I went to Walmart today and spent about an hour messing with theirs, and I was impressed. I came hom and bought one. Does anyone have any experience with one? Are they good for macro and just everyday shots? Thanks, Zach.

I bought my 11 year old daughter one for Xmas and she really likes it. I haven't had a look yet. (I bought it on size and that night photo's didn't look to bad on the rear screen).

She did keep saying ooooooo super macro.

If I get time to have a go the weekend I will report back

I purchased this camera just before Christmas and took some excellent macro and supermacro shots with it.

Well, i bought the camera new from Amazon for $162 with free shipping. When it got here the package was all beat up and it looked like someone used the camera before me. The lens cap was missing and the batteries were already in the camera. I didn't pay much attention to those issues right off the bat because I wanted to go shoot then thing. After about 100 pictures, I started getting a "Write Error!" and a "Read Error!". i contacted Amazon and they sent me a brand new camera free off charge. When i got it, everything was in good, new working order. A day later the camera started acting up. I was getting the same errors, and then after two pictures the camera would freeze. I had it and got a full refund. I was always happy with Fuji, but this camera disappointed me. I did take some really nice pictures (In my opinion) and the functions were nice.
Thanks for the responses,
Zach

Did you use the same memory card both times?

Actually I thought that was what happened, but when I tried another SD card it did the same thing. I then tried an XD card, which had the same problems. I mean, in all honesty, aside from that problem I really enjoyed using the camera.

I bought the Fuji film S1000 fd last summer with my own money. ( I am 12) It is great! It is not pro but is a nice beginner camera. i will be switching cams next year or so. if you only want a simple cam this is a good one. It has macro and super macro settings. Here are some samples:

This one was used with slow shutter speed so that the traffic is blurred. You can do this by going to manual mode, and then pressing the + and - button at the bottom. This allows you to choose how many seconds you want the shutter speed to be.
