Default Fuji FinePix S700

Hi everyone. I am thinking of purchasing this camera to replace my Sony. Does anyone know anything about this camera or the Fuji brand? Is it a good camera for the price? http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=5634162
Please let me know your opinions on this camera. Thanks in advance.

I have not used this camera, so I have no personal opinion. Did you read any reviews? Here is what I found: http://www.popphoto.com/camera_revie...epix_s700.html

Thanks for the help. It looks like a camera I can use and that is within budget. For everything I would have to buy for this camera (the camera, case, rechargable batteries, and a memory card) it is all around $315 or so. That is the most I can spend at this time. Thanks again for your help

I just got that camera from my uncle for $135. He gave me the camera, a case, cable release, cords, and more.

Is is a Digital SLR or a compact or a point and shoot?

You can also use www.dpreview.com

It is hard to learn how it functions though but that is just from my point of view.

A fuji S700 is a super-zoom point and shoot, not a DSLR, which has a direct through the lens view through the viewfinder.

I myself have the previous version, A Fuji S5200, and some features are kind of complicated to use, such as manual focus etc.

I'm sure its a great camera, tell us what you think of it.

I would say its a compact Point and shoot. I say that all dSLR's have interchangeable lens.

I just purchased this camera! I am hoping for a FULL DSLR come Christmas and I am sure that will happen, but in the meantime I will begin learning on this. I've done a few photo sessions with my daughter, who is very photogenic... They have been amazing and I am really in love with this camera. The optical zoom is 10x and it's AMAZING!! Very worth the money.

I'd say this is a point and shoot with "want to be traits". You can purchase any 46mm filter and add it to the camera so it's NOT limited to just what's there. However you can't do ALL the things you can with a DSLR so it is limited there... It's a very good learning camera. There are many things you can adjust and play with!!

Just thought I'd throw my hat in the ring and say that I concur with the previous post. I've been using the S700 since May and, while I still hope to get a DSLR soon (Rebel XTi!) this camera is doing a great job getting me by.

I use this camera as well. Its a great camera. Although im planning to upgrade from it. simply because its limiting, as it isnt a DSLR. But as a learners camera its great. Takes some beautiful photos
